TIffin lies and does not pay its debts!

Beware buying anything from Tiffin. They have a history of lying about delivery dates and having zero customer service. They lies about my delivery date and made me wait months for a resolution. I had to call them almost every day and fight with them to get even the smallest bit of help, it was ridiculous. They owe me a refund and have bounced 2 checks on me and now are completely ignoring my requests for payment.

Check with the BBB. org and do an internet search before doing anything with them. I highly recommend you find some where else to buy your mats and equipment from.

We ordered a mat for our youth club back in August with an absolute latest delivery date of October. Guess what? Yup, still nothing, and we are less then an hour away from Elkton. We had great communication up until the time they received payment, after that nothing but the run around. Should have performed an online search prior to ordering, hopefully the next potential customer will do due diligence and run away, far away. Attorney Generals office here we come.

Equipment is Failing...Not standing by Warranty

We purchased equipment that arrived over a month late which held up us from being able to operate...which cost us $. But the equipment did finally arrive although late. After installing equipment we noticed mats were appearing to have holes contacted them & sent tons of pics..after the sales guy blamed us for faulty equipment - the Engineer stated they would send us a replacement mat...today still no replacement after discussion in May 2014 (3 mo's) also we now have failure of another mat asked for owner to contact us to take care of the problem...obviously they do not care about customers or safety. Even after asking for a rep to come out..they stated they do not have one. My recommendation is to not save $ by using this company it will cost you in the long run and they do not stand behind their products or warranties. We purchased $28K in equipment from them, extremely disappointed!

NOT impressed with TIFFIN mats....LATE ORDER...NO RESPONSE to inquiries about WHERE my order was...credit card was charge on the DAY of the order...late product cost me money...NOPE find another souce STILL waiting for my order!

Tiffin mat Co. is a joke you want to order something from them it's like rubbing a genie bottle wishing that it shows up in your living room. I have never seen a company lie so much. I think they must have to take lie detector test make sure they lie on everything that they comes out of their mouth. Not a single person there has ever told me or my partner the truth. When did lying, cheating and scamming people become a business tactic!! This is a warning to everyone who is even considering of ordering from these people. Do not, you will be SORRY!! You will just be asking for trouble and lots of headaches. You may as well just go ahead and flush the money down the toilet because that's what you're going to end up doing.

I was an employee that got totally disrespected by owner, Mr. Tiffin

I worked for this horrible man for over 3 years. He was rude, inconsiderate, and had sexually harassed me regularly. He called me vicious names and mentally abused me daily. He should be punished for his mannerisms...but everyone is TOO scared of him. He cheats his employees...his customers...and the government. DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH HIM. One day, he will reap what he sows. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM HIM AND HIS CHEATING COMPANY. He will steal your money...your integrity...and hopefully n. Hot your virginity. His wife is a beautiful unknowing victim. Bless his children and his step-children.

I am so delighted people are finally exposing Tiffin -- THUMBS UP! It's about time former employees are putting his head on the chopping block.

I, too, was sexually harassed by this monster, as well as the verbal abuse & his violent behavior towards employees, family & anyone else associated with his business. He attacked a truck driver for talking to a female employee on one occasion -- he was also sexually harassing her so guess it was a jealously thing -- how sick! For years he cheated employees out of overtime wages. I was informed that an employee finally stepped forward & reported him -- he was forced to reimburse all employees & former employees for the money he had cheated them out of.

IRS finally caught up with him! He is a cheater & liar with no concerns for employees or customers. For those of you who worked there & were exposed to adhesive Toluene being used in the construction of spring floors please go to your doctor & explain what happened, especially if you are experiencing neurological or breathing problems -- Toluene is a very toxic chemical with long lasting after affects -- trust me! Anyone who purchased a spring floor from Tiffin should inspect for Toluene content -- they could be putting the health & welfare of their clients at risk.

A person like Tiffin will surely get what he deserves -- it's called "KARMA," & it will catch up with him. FYI - you are not a spoiled brat -- you are a victim! Tiffin should change website -- what a JOKE!

Wonder how much Tiffin paid to have that guy lie to read all those lies?? I, too, feel sorry for his wife & children.

:cry Horrible place and I have witnessed first hand the way he abuses his workers. He has no regard and or respect for people.

All he cares about is what money is coming in that day. Workers fear and hate him. He is abusive on a daily basis. Workers can hear him throughout the building while he curses, rants and raves.

Never experienced anything like it.

Hated every day that I was there and so glad I moved on. Just the though of that place brings back terrifying memories.

Tiffin Mats Experience

Hi all, I bought 6 Tiffin mats for a martial arts seminar that I hosted a month ago in MD. I was really leery about throwing my business their way based on your and a few other reviews. But I wanted their product bc I had to supplement an existing set of 8 Tiffin mats, and I wanted an exact product match on the floor, for obvious reasons. Also they are fairly local to my home and dojo. I shared my concerns and insisted on a full money back guarantee for any lateness or defect whatsoever, payable immediately. I also told them I would post re. whatever experience they provided for me. Well, I have to say they delivered, all as expected, no surprises. I hope you don't mind my post and a data point in the opposite direction from your intent in starting this site, but they did right by me the one time I used them.

I ordered a mat, never received the mat and never received our refund either.

They promise it for months, that is if you can get anyone to answer besides the secretary, (if I was her I'd get a new job and stop taking the abuse that her bosses cause her).

I will never use Tiffin Mats again and I suggest you don't either.

Item not delivered, not refunded

I ordered two section beams on 12/11/2012. However, only one beam was delivered on 1/14/2013. It took over a month for delivery still with missing piece. I have called Tiffin Mats numerous time to get the 2nd piece delivered, but it never happened; I totally gave up in early March, then asked refund for the un-delivered item; I was told it would be completed within a week. After a month, I still do not receive the refund yet. It is a total disaster shopping experience. This is my worst shopping experience in any online store since 1995. Do not buy from them. You will regret.

More of the Same - Wish I knew before

I've been having a similar experience with them. Ordered a vinyl mat cover, paid in full and was told it would ship in 4 days. Never came, no one knew status, no one would call me back (no one ever does), someone quit, factory delays, etc... Cover didn't come for 6 weeks. Cost me thousands of dollars in business. The delays are bad but the lack of communication and the outright lying is worse. Couldn't make any alternate plans because it was always going to be shipped in a day or two, or was shipped but no one had a tracking number. Never had so many people from one company just lie to me on a regular basis. Don;t have any idea how they actually stay in business. Guess it from poor suckers like me who do't know until it's too late.

It looks like to me that all of us are in the same boat. I don't know why we don't all get together and do a class action lawsuit against Tiffin??!!

We have all lost business, time and money with all their lies and schemes.

it just seems like to me we should fight back as one large group!! See of they want to lie and cheat then.

Ordered Mat issue

Well, I wish I would have read this before I ordered a mat from this company. I ordered online. I never received a receipt and they never gave me a tracking number nor a confirmation number. The took the money from my account the same day I ordered. When I called about the mat they had NO RECORD of it since the woman I was working with didn't do the internet ordering and their online ordering was not working. Our gym needed the mat for a meet we had scheduled and they were saying it wasn't going to get there by when they said it would. I told them I wanted a full refund and was told by GRETCHEN that it would take 7-10 days which was longer than I had before our meet. After many calls and stressing that I was serious they said they would have the mat there for the meet and I would receive a tracking order the following Monday. I never got it but I did call every day and they always said my rep was busy. A shipping company called me on Wednesday and said they had a delivery for me of a mat. When the mat came to our gym it was USED as the words were completely worn off of it and it was ripped in two places. The driver of the truck noted that on the slip. I called them 7 times thus far and have not heard back from them yet. Needless to say, I WILL continue to make this right, the mat was $1400.

Tiffin mat

I ordered a gymnastics mat for Christmas it was 170. I ordered it on Dec 14th. i was charged immediately for the product. I called them three days in a roll and I get the same rep mackensy she doesn't wanna give me the time of day so she tells me my order isn't in the system even though they have taken my money!! On the 4th day I called and she took my information and said she would call me back. Never happened!! I called back on the 5th day and told my order wqs on back order because they didn't have the color I ordered and it would be another two weeks.so I canceled my order and was told 7-20 business days to get mg money back. I received a call on the 9th business day saying my order was delivered and left in my front porch. I have not received this mat. And was told I had to file a claim with UPS to get my money back!! I spoke with a supervisor and same thing!!! They are very rude and didn't five me any tracking info to go by so I had to call UPS and they look it up so I could do all the work and UPS refund them the money in 8 business days and then if they decide they wanna do there job I might get money back in a couple of months. It is very poor customer service!!!!

yeah our mats are two years old, contacted to have mat repair, they wont answer email or phone. we put tape over holes so they wouldnt get any worse..sent them pics as proof....mackenzie is a waste of time to talk to or email...she wont email back, neither will customer service!!!

dont think we will deal with them again!!!! no matter is they have best price around or not!!!

The biggest bunch of monkeys I have ever dealt with!

I ordered a product in December. Never got a shipping confirmation. After two weeks of waiting, I called and the phone was answered by some ***, who acted like I was annoying him, and that had no right to call.I inquired about my order, and he said "I don't work in the internet dept, so I can't help you I'll have someone call you". He said someone would call me back by the end of the day (i called when they opened), but never received a call. I called back the next day, and same story. I also sent multiple emails to their useless rep that sent me the confirmation, her name was Kathy Mahoney. I never even received a reply from her. I never got my order. I never received a bit of info about it, and they didn't even know what I *** ordered when they looked me up. All they saw was a purchase from me, but no other info. What a bunch of useless *** apes these people are! In addition to the *** experience with the order, every time I called, they gave some attitude, as if I didn't have the right to call about the order I placed! They had my money, and I believe they had no intention of ever sending the product. These people are the lowest of the low class, they don't give a *** about their customers, and they should be shut the *** down! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE ***

:( Tiffin Mats owners are incredibly inept at properly running a business. They are extremely rude and callous and treat customers and employees with no respect whatsoever.

I would advise anyone to research other mat companies before giving them your hard earned money - and if you are looking for a job - runaway fast - you would be treated better in any other company.

Dont fall for the newest puppet saying he will help you. ALL the new people want to help - but never get the chance because the owner calls the shots and makes the dirty deals.

My opinion: don't use Tiffin Mats!!!!

Told I could finance. Sent check for large amt. Told mat would come in 3- weeks- never happened. waited about 2 additional weeks. Had extremely important event- told I would get it in time- did not. , so agreed to refund., I have yet to receive refund. Customer service was horrid. Placed on hold, told would call back- seldom did. Tiffin Mats - Horrible!

I placed an order in August for cheer mats and storage bags. The order was not shipped in September, as promised. Finally received the order in early November. We received the wrong items for 2 custom bags ordered. Company shipped new bags that are also incorrect. These bags were received last week. I am getting the run around now, and Megan (who laughed and hung up on me) is telling me they are really busy. This order was placed in August and deserves immediate attention. The 2 mats that are to be stored in these protective bags are now unprotected in an outdoor storage area and are subject to being ruin. We need these bags immediately. The company also owes us blue velcro, which attached the 2 mats together for tumbling. I have just learned that Tiffin has an "F" rating with the BBBB. I hope the attorney general's office will look hard at this company. There are 16 complaints against this company, some of which are unresolved.

As an employee for a very short period of time - I worked to try and resolve many of these same issues you, and others have had. This is a problem that has been going on for quite some time, and unfortunately many of the employees have the same opinon as the owner that it's not their problem, and they'll get your stuff to you when they can.

Very hard to be an efficient business when you don't have $ in the bank to pay for materials, and your employees are worried about whether their paychecks will bounce.

Keep on them, contact the attorney general's office and file a complaint - the more they have regarding them the greater the chance they will pay attention to the problem. I wish you luck in getting the correct items - sincerely!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. CC was charged on 6/13 for wrestling mat for summer workouts, was told 2 to 3 weeks asked for rush on it. Called multiple times to find out what was going on, somebody quit, 4th of July, ya ya ya! Recieved 8/9 and short a box of Mat tape they were sending to appease me for the delay. Called 8/10 about tape, was to be sent that day & should recieve Mon or Tues. Called today hasn't even been sent. My boys start school Monday, how pissed am I!!!

Dan and Linda Tiffin spend more time trying to find employees with their tattoos uncovered then worrying about his fathers company. They do not pay the IRS with holding from employees paychecks - or the Maryland state with holdings.

They do not pay Sales and Use taxes. They owe bigtime for all of these things. They pay their mortgage thru the company and let their kids charge up the credit cards.

NO BUSINESS sense whatsoever. The company would THRIVE without Dan!

I have a similar story- check was cashed on August 15 but order was lost (was supposed to be rushed)- Called 9/4 and order was found finally. Then they ran out of foam.

The next week they ran out of blue carpet. The 3rd week the adhesive wasn't working. Supposed to be delived the week after but the truck was in New York (not sure why that cause another week delay- I can drive to CA in that time).

Promised a discount and still haven't received it. Horrible service- each nice employee didn't manage to do a thing.

The employees aren't to blame. Dan hires young, inexperienced people to work, pays them somewhat decently (overtime is under the table) but treats them horribly.

They are in constant fear of messing up because Dan has a very scary temper- throws things, screams at them and always fires people when the mood strikes him.

He's even gotten in fist fights with employees. Most of the employees desperately need the job so they do what they can, make promises they know they can't keep (because they are instructed to do so) and work in fear of Dan's next temper tantrum.

I placed an order with Tiffin Mats back in July and received an email the mat would not be shipped until August 26th. Then received a phone call just a few days before the mat was to be shipped that they do not carry the mat I requested.

(Why was it listed on the website and why didn't I receive a call weeks before???) I then canceled the order. Today is September 8th and I still have not received my refund of $184.00.

As the previous customer stated, I have called several times and receive the runaround each time. I recommend finding another company if you're looking to purchase mats.
